Tuttavia, in Europa il consumo di carne rimane elevato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#8217;allevamento animale causa il <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s43016-021-00358-x\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">20% delle emissioni globali di gas serra<\/a> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/ourworldindata.org\/co2-emissions-from-transport\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">equivalenti a<\/a> tutti gli aerei, i camion, le auto, i treni e le navi della Terra. Finora, per\u00f2, le proteine alternative hanno ricevuto solo una frazione degli investimenti pubblici e privati rispetto ad altre innovazioni come le auto elettriche e le energie rinnovabili.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Italia, i segni del cambiamento climatico e il loro impatto sulla produzione di prodotti italiani famosi in tutto il mondo stanno diventando sempre pi\u00f9 problematici. Ne \u00e8 un esempio la condizione drammatica del fiume Po che nel 2022 ha segnato la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d43978-023-00121-9#:~:text=Analysis%20shows%20last%20year&#039;s%20water,probably%20triggered%20by%20global%20warming.&amp;text=An%20almost%20dry%20Po%20river,in%20the%20summer%20of%202022.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pi\u00f9 grave siccit\u00e0 da quando sono iniziate le registrazioni due secoli fa<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il passaggio alla carne vegetale e coltivata potrebbe ridurre le emissioni climatiche di <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cedelft.eu\/en\/publications\/2610\/lca-of-cultivated-meat-future-projections-for-different-scenarios\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">circa il 92%<\/a> rispetto all&#8217;allevamento convenzionale, consentendo alle persone di mangiare cibi a loro familiari senza peggiorare la crisi climatica.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1440\" src=\"https:\/\/gfieurope.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/04\/Licensed_Drought-on-the-River-Po-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6006\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.5625;object-fit:cover;width:360px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gfieurope.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/04\/Licensed_Drought-on-the-River-Po-scaled.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/gfieurope.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/04\/Licensed_Drought-on-the-River-Po-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/gfieurope.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/04\/Licensed_Drought-on-the-River-Po-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/gfieurope.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/04\/Licensed_Drought-on-the-River-Po-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/gfieurope.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/04\/Licensed_Drought-on-the-River-Po-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/gfieurope.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/04\/Licensed_Drought-on-the-River-Po-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/gfieurope.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/04\/Licensed_Drought-on-the-River-Po-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/gfieurope.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/04\/Licensed_Drought-on-the-River-Po-437x246.jpg 437w, https:\/\/gfieurope.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/04\/Licensed_Drought-on-the-River-Po-214x120.jpg 214w, https:\/\/gfieurope.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/04\/Licensed_Drought-on-the-River-Po-1430x804.jpg 1430w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"panels__panel panels__panel--opened\"><div class=\"panels__title\"><h3>Perdita di biodiversit\u00e0<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"panels__content\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66%\">\n<p>L&#8217;Europa occidentale \u00e8 una delle regioni <a href=\"https:\/\/adriana-de-palma.shinyapps.io\/ssp_explore\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pi\u00f9 impoverite<\/a> dal punto di vista naturale al mondo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Secondo il Gruppo intergovernativo di esperti sul cambiamento climatico (IPCC), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipcc.ch\/site\/assets\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/02\/SPM_Updated-Jan20.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">il 37% della terra globale libera dai ghiacci<\/a> \u00e8 utilizzata come pascolo per gli animali da allevamento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I maestosi e variegati paesaggi italiani \u2013 sia terrestri che marini \u2013 sono tra i pi\u00f9 ricchi di biodiversit\u00e0 in Europa, ma sono sempre pi\u00f9 minacciati dai <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d43978-023-00121-9#:~:text=Analysis%20shows%20last%20year&#039;s%20water,probably%20triggered%20by%20global%20warming.&amp;text=An%20almost%20dry%20Po%20river,in%20the%20summer%20of%202022.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cambiamenti climatici<\/a>, dalla pesca eccessiva e <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waternewseurope.com\/italy-climate-change-boosts-water-pollution-by-intensive-dairy-farms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dall&#8217;allevamento animale<\/a> intensivo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La produzione di carne coltivata potrebbe utilizzare fino al <a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s11367-022-02128-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">90% di terreno in meno<\/a> rispetto all&#8217;allevamento convenzionale, e la carne di origine vegetale pu\u00f2 utilizzare fino al <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gfi.org\/files\/pb-meat-sustainability.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">99% di suolo in meno<\/a>. Le proteine alternative possono quindi liberare spazio per ripristinare gli habitat e fare spazio a metodi di allevamento pi\u00f9 rispettosi della natura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il Mediterraneo \u00e8 il <a href=\"https:\/\/euobserver.com\/green-economy\/152094#:~:text=The%20Mediterranean%20is%20the%20world&#039;s,exploited%20in%20an%20unsustainable%20way.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mare pi\u00f9 sfruttato al mondo<\/a>: il 75% dei suoi stock ittici \u00e8 sovrasfruttato, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pubblicitaitalia.com\/en\/pesce\/news\/fao-pesca-eccesiva-nel-mediterraneo-e-nel-mar-nero\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">e la produzione attuale rimane al doppio del volume sostenibile scientificamente consigliato<\/a>. L\u2019Europa destina gi\u00e0 il <a href=\"https:\/\/agriculture.ec.europa.eu\/data-and-analysis\/markets\/overviews\/balance-sheets-sector\/oilseeds-and-protein-crops_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">45% di tutti i raccolti che produce<\/a> agli animali e utilizza la met\u00e0 dei terreni agricoli per la zootecnia. L&#8217;UE \u00e8 anche il <a href=\"https:\/\/op.europa.eu\/en\/publication-detail\/-\/publication\/636cb000-9fb8-11ee-b164-01aa75ed71a1\/language-en\/format-PDF\/source-search\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">secondo importatore mondiale di prodotti ittici<\/a> &#8211; e dipende per oltre due terzi dai prodotti ittici importati. In un mondo sempre pi\u00f9 incerto, abbiamo bisogno di un sistema pi\u00f9 resiliente ed efficace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le carni vegetali e coltivate potrebbero produrre cibo utilizzando <a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s11367-022-02128-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fino al 90% di terra in meno<\/a>, e la fermentazione pu\u00f2 produrre proteine da colture che altrimenti andrebbero sprecate.
